StreetComplete: Fixing OpenStreetMap, one tiny quest at a time
Points and comments are a snapshot, not live.
StreetComplete lets users fix OpenStreetMap by answering simple location-based quests.
StreetComplete is an Android app for OpenStreetMap (OSM) surveyors. It finds missing map data near the user and presents it as quests on a map. Solving each quest involves visiting the location and answering a simple question; the answer is directly added to OSM in the user's name. The app is available on Google Play and F-Droid. It is open source and accepts donations via Liberapay, GitHub Sponsors, and Patreon.
What commenters are saying
Commenters largely praise StreetComplete as beginner-friendly and fun, likening it to Pokémon Go without the evil parts. Some wish for the ability to add roads and footpaths, and others note that adding features like these requires more advanced apps like Vespucci or EveryDoor. A few point out that the app hides power-user features like the "Things" overlay and that an iOS port is in progress via Kotlin Multiplatform. Some find the UI confusing initially, and one user notes that POI loading can be slow.
