What commenters are saying
Commenters debated the target audience: some saw it as a developer device, not a consumer router, due to only two Ethernet ports and dual-band WiFi. Others noted that adding a 2.5GbE switch provides more ports, and that many devices connect wirelessly today. The price ($84-106) was considered solid. One user reported switching from Google Wifi and finding it stable with better range. Another pointed out that 1GB RAM is plenty for router use, even with ad-blocking plugins. The thread also discussed the historical WRT54G and OpenWRT's origins.
