Newgrounds.com – A community of games, music, and art
Points and comments are a snapshot, not live.
Newgrounds remains a vibrant, mostly unchanged laissez-faire hub for indie games, art, and animation.
The site features a full slate of community-created content: featured movies (e.g., JazLyte's "Punk Ass Pirate Donkey No.1," SrPelo's "Spooky Month: The Wacky Wicked Woods"), games (e.g., "Senescence Protocol," "JOJORUNE: VS Dio"), art, comics, and audio tracks. A Halloween Spooktacular 2026 forum post is promoted. The front page highlights a new user (Ben10X) joining and a call to become a supporter for perks.
What commenters are saying
Commenters express nostalgia and appreciation for Newgrounds' endurance as a relatively uncensored creative space, contrasting it with modern ad-funded platforms. A thread splits over whether censorship is driven by creators or platform economics. Specific nostalgic mentions: Salad Fingers, idle/tower defense games, Weebl and Bob, and a dress-up Britney Spears game. One comment notes that Flash's demise was a loss for e-learning, while WebAssembly is praised as a better modern runtime.
