MV2 extensions installed on Chrome 138 or earlier will remain installed but cannot receive updates or be reinstalled. The removal also affects non-Chrome Chromium browsers like Brave, which rely on the Chrome Web Store for extensions. Brave has chosen to host four popular MV2 extensions (AdGuard, uBlock Origin, uMatrix, NoScript) on its own backend, allowing users to enable them easily.
