F-Droid 2.0 is the largest app update in 10 years, rebuilt with Kotlin Compose and a modern Material Design interface. It adds a redesigned Discover screen, expanded categories (including 17 game genres), improved search with CJK language support, and powerful filtering. The app now uses Android's pre-approval API for smoother installs and background updates by default. Tor support was simplified to use proxy settings. App-wiping via panic triggers was removed but may return. The update drops Android 6 (Marshmallow). Development was funded by NLnet, OTF, NGI, Mobifree, and Calyx Institute.
