An open source AI executive team with eight specialist agents, created after developers were replaced by AI.

Open Executive provides a coherent virtual executive persona backed by eight specialist Claude agents: CSO, CFO, CHRO, General Counsel, COO, CMO, CPO, and Board Communications Director. Built by SenteLabsAI with FastAPI backend and Next.js UI, it uses ChromaDB for RAG over built-in MBA knowledge and uploaded company documents, SQLite for episodic memory across sessions, and a scheduler for proactive follow-ups. Supports Discord, Slack, email, Telegram, and Google Chat interfaces. Requires Anthropic API key, runs locally or on Fly.io with persistent volume.

What commenters are saying

Commenters found the project amusing in context of CEOs replacing workers with AI. Several noted that corporate officers must legally be "natural persons," so an AI CEO cannot actually hold the role. Some argued that an intern could act as a figurehead while the AI runs operations, but others countered that puppet CEO schemes are legally risky and courts see through them. A few commenters debated whether AI could handle executive tasks like accountability, networking, and culture enforcement.

Some commenters discussed what CEOs actually do: responsibility, value enforcement, and ratifying good decisions at the lowest possible level. Others questioned whether AI could extract vision from the collective or make unbiased prioritization decisions.
